As the redevelopment of the Mont-Blanc Building comes to an exciting close, NRDG welcomes tenants, Dr. Anne Hill N.D., AHG, and Dr. Brooke Bodeen N.D. of Alder Family Medicine (www.RisingTideMedicine.com). Their practice is a holistic naturopathic clinic that focuses on whole-body health. Thus, NRDG customized the new office space with the well-being of the patient in mind, and to reduce electromagnetic frequency (EMF) exposure.

Alder Family Medicine’s unique multi-angled approach to medicine makes the practice stand out among others in Portland. Local company establishes new Lloyd District headquarters after ‘Shark Tank’ deal

North Rim Development Group is excited for our new tenant Brazi Bites, LLC a Brazilian cheese bread manufacturer (www.brazibites.com), to house their new corporate headquarters in NRDG’s Mont-Blanc Building. What began as a curious kitchen experiment has quickly transitioned into a passion-filled business. The Brazi Bites product is a miniaturized take on a traditional Brazilian cheese bread snack, crafted from the founder’s family recipe.

Junea Rocha and her husband Cameron MacMullin have gone from debuts at local food shows to mass-producing their product, and distributing through well-known national retailers, including Costco. Featured on ABC’s entrepreneurial show Shark Tank, Brazi Bites is sure to have an impact on Portland’s ever-growing food scene.

Local mental-health advocates relocate to new space in the vibrant Lloyd District

North Rim Development Group welcomes Kinship House to its newest building in NE Portland, Oregon. Strategically-centered in the Lloyd District, the Mont-Blanc Building is a 35,000-square-foot mixed-use redevelopment that features commercial production kitchens and creative office space. Kinship House, the Mont-Blanc Building’s first tenant, is an outpatient-child-and-family-services organization aptly located inside actual residences, acting as a full-service mental-health agency for children growing up within the adoption- and foster-care systems. Since 1996, Kinship House has addressed the often-overlooked negative aspects of the lives of these children (and their families), and allowed them to comfortably explore their past so they can prep for a future of success.

Kinship House will be hosting its first annual Light the Way auction and dinner on October 6th, 2016, and tickets for the public fundraiser are available now at www.KinshipHouse.org. In 2015, Kinship House served over 500 foster children in achieving stability and a healthy family, through adoption and reunification, and North Rim is proud to support these efforts.

NRDG welcomes an exciting new tenant, SOLARC Architecture, Inc., to a customized, ground-floor suite in the newly-redeveloped Waterman Building, at 80 SE Madison Street (TheWatermanBuilding.com). The space features a private conference room with floor-to-ceiling glass and a server room that repurposes the vintage stairwell doors from the original building.

SOLARC Architecture (SolarcArchitecture.com) is a newly-separated division of the 15-year-old SOLARC Engineering and Energy + Architectural Consulting firm, and is headed by principal Galen Ohmart, AIA LEED AP. SOLARC specializes in fast tracking new buildings, renovations, and tenant improvements for public agencies and private property owners in Oregon and Washington.

The Waterman Building is one of NRDG’s latest developments in the popular Eastside Industrial District of close-in southeast Portland. Construction of the project was conducted sustainably to LEED standards, and the property houses four floors of creative office space plus an on-site restaurant in the lobby. North Rim Development Group is pleased to welcome a familiar tenant, Molly’s www.GrownToEat.com, to their new commercial kitchen space in the Lloyd District. For the past 2 years, Molly’s has been supplying the Portland area with fresh salads and sandwiches crafted in another one of North Rim’s commercial kitchens, near the Hawthorne Bridge. Molly’s is a Seattle-based company started by their namesake, who turned her hobby into a thriving business which focuses on using organic ingredients and providing the customer with delicious and healthy lunch fare.

Molly’s new kitchen in the Mont-Blanc Building is a fully-outfitted ground-floor production space with all new equipment, room for retail sales, and an overhead door with convenient drive-in loading bay. Portland’s own a-la-carte LEGO supplier, Brick A Thon, is now running their unique distribution center from the Waterman Building’s creative office space. Since 2003, Brick-A-Thon has transformed from just a hobby to a full-fledged business operation. Brick-a-Thon will be able to utilize their new office space to both fulfill online orders of LEGO and accommodate local pick-ups. They consider themselves the supplier of “that missing piece,” “bricks and minifigures”, and “out-of-print sets”, supplying a vast array of parts to builders and customizers.

The Waterman Building is drawing Portland’s new generation of makers and thinkers back to the Central Eastside – the city’s original industrial sanctuary. Baked Roots Bar is a grab-and-go establishment offering affordable and healthy, plant-based dining options. Baked Roots Bar aims to create a comfortable and easy-going atmosphere with an emphasis on sustainability.
