September 26, 2017: Ahara Rasa Ghee Upgrades to Production Kitchen in Pitman Building
Pitman Building signs long-time sub-tenant to their own space
North Rim Development Group and The Pitman Building welcome Ahara Rasa Ghee (www.iloveghee.com) to a production kitchen in the mixed-use building, located in Southeast Portland. The local ghee producer was a sub-tenant for a while and has now grown their business so much that they are now in their own production space. Ahara Rasa’s ghee is a specialized type of butter that is sourced from grass-fed cows at the Sierra Nevada Cheese Company. Ghee relies on specific churning methods to perfect its consistency and flavor. The company name, "Ahara Rasa" (Ah-hah-rah Ruh-Sah) means "the essence of food" in Sanskrit. It is the end product of good digestion and the subtle energy derived from food, rather than the mass itself.
The Pitman Building, NRDG’s ground-up development, is located in the Central Eastside Industrial district, near many local restaurants, brew pubs, and bakeries. The building offers a variety of spaces, including production- and catering kitchens as well as 2nd-floor office suites and outdoor patios. It is the ideal building for high-tech startups and/or small manufacturing businesses.
