Wasabi Sushi PDX Opens First Brick-and-Mortar Restaurant, in Matterhorn Building
The popular sushi-centric food cart expands to new sit-down establishment
North Rim Commercial Properties is proud to welcome Wasabi Sushi PDX to the Matterhorn Building, in the heart of Portland’s Central Eastside Industrial District. Originally established in 2015 as a pair of food carts (at Happy Valley Station and on SE Division in Portland, respectively), Wasabi Sushi PDX has now opened their first official “sit-down” restaurant with counter service. The innovative eatery features a modern twist to new age sushi, and unique creations such as the “Sushi Donut”, a “Sushi B-Ritto” (encrusted in spicy Cheetos crumbs), poke bowls, and an assortment of creative sushi “burgers” featuring fresh seafood sandwiched between two rice “buns”. Wasabi Sushi prides their menu as “traditional Sushi with a modern twist.” Their new location offers both indoor- and outdoor seating, allowing more local foodies to experience the truth in Wasabi Sushi’s motto: #HappyPeopleEatSushi.
The Matterhorn Building is a newly-renovated, adaptive-reuse development located in the heart of the Central Eastside Industrial District. The building has five ground-floor commercial kitchens with second-floor mezzanine flex spaces for create office or storage use. The kitchens are fully outfitted to accommodate catering, as well as limited restaurant use. All suites are built to be plug-and-play ready, and the building was remodeled sustainably green and energy-efficient.
